Hi, I'm Clare and I run Twiggys Bird Rescue. I rescue and rehabilitate pigeons and garden birds through times of illness or injury. I take in tiny babies who have fell out of nests or are brought in by cats. I hand rear these which is incredibly time consuming although very rewarding too. I work entirely voluntary and mostly self fund the rescue. I rely on public donations and gifts to keep going. Medications and food, especially live food and baby food are expensive.

However I am now in need of a large outdoor aviary as a matter of urgency. Pigeons numbers are steadily increasing in my care but at the minute I've no way of a soft release for them once healed. Luckily for me, not for them, they're going to take a little while to heal and need bed rest before entering an aviary. Other rewcues in the area are having to turn away pigeons because they are over run.

Ive lots of pigeons in my care at the minute. None are quick rehab and release. Pigeons once well need an aviary to fly about in to regain their wing strength and body stamina.

Also any pigeon that is now deemed disabled I.e lost wing etc will remain with me in this large aviary.

So it's a matter of most importance to get this aviary built ASAP.

I need a large level base building of concrete or paving. Then 9 aviary panels, 1 door panel, about 4 sheets of corrugated plastic for roof. Roof supports, then also perches.

I need this building ASAP, ideally before summer ends. I'm happy to add a portion of this myself. I ask for the generosity of the general public and Twiggys supporters to help by donating to this. I will share updates as its built and when the birds are added.

As you are all aware, building materials are not as cheap as they used to be. The aviary panels I intend to order are superior and will last a long time. Then I need a handyman to help with this build which again is extra expense.
