My older sister, Avesta Carrara, has been living in a mobile home park in Malibu for the past two decades. Her home and most of her belongings were destroyed--luckily she got out safely and with her pets. However, she, like so many of her neighbors must start all over again! She works as an office manager at Pepperdine University and also had a business organizing events (parties, weddings, etc.) in Malibu, which will also likely not be viable for a long time to come. I try to imagine how she feels --starting all over again, losing many important and sentimental things, as well as just trying to deal with the shock of so much loss for her and her community. I'm trying to help send even a little money to help her out to replace a few things once she figures out where she will be able to live; she is planning on rebuilding so these funds will also be used to clean up the site of her home and make it possible for her to begin again. I'd love to have you help me support this modest fundraising effort to help my sister. My parents would have wanted me to do this.
