Avery's Parents Flood Recovery Fund
Donation protected
Dear Friends,
As many of you have seen, Avery's parents' home in Louisiana was hit hard by the catastrophic flooding over the past two weeks. They had over a foot of water in their house, and it is finally receding.
They still have to access the house by boat, but now they're able to start clean-up and reconstruction, ripping out damaged walls and insulation, treating black mold that's spread throughout the house, fixing the roof, and raising the foundation. Due to the location of the home, they were unable to receive flood insurance.
Many of you have asked how you can help, so I've set up a “gofundme” account to purchase the building supplies and pay for the repairs that are needed ( https://www.gofundme.com/averyfloodfund )
Our goal is $39,000. It will take 6 to 12 months of work before they can move back in their house.
Here's what needs to be done:
1) Removal of damaged walls, insulation, and black mold:
Approximate Cost = $4,000.00
2) Purchase of new insulation, wood and other rebuilding materials:
Approximate Cost = $10,000.00
3) Replacement of Portions of the Roof:
Approximate Cost = $10,000.00
4) Raising and repairing the house’s foundation - to prevent future flooding.
Approximate Cost = $15,000.00
If you'd like to contribute something towards this, nothing is too small. Go to: https://www.gofundme.com/averyfloodfund
Thank you so much for considering this and helping us help her parents rebuild their lives!
