Avery Richmond

Friday September 2, 2022 morning while getting ready for work, Avery got a stabbing headache that brought him to tears, lost his balance, and fell over. He lost use of his left leg and most of his left arm and was unable to get up. Thankfully his incredible bosses and family at Bowman’s were right outside and rushed in to help. He was taken by ambulance to Mercy and after many tests and scans, they found a mass about the size of a lemon on his brain. He was taken to the ICU until he was stable enough to be moved to the general neuro floor. Avery had surgery Tuesday September 7, 2022 to remove the “lemon in his head” as he calls it. It was then biopsied to figure out the next step. Results are still pending. Avery has already started PT in hopes of regaining full use of his left side.

Avery was moved to Kenmore Mercy Hospital on Friday September 9, 2022 for an intense inpatient rehab program. We’re still awaiting the biopsy results but hoping Avery can stay for three weeks of therapy!

For anyone that knows Avery, you can only imagine how he’s feeling. He’s desperate to get home to his two month old son, Teddy, along with back in the grapes as this is prime picking season. “Harvesting the fruits of his loins” as he calls it.

We are so thankful for all of the love and support we have felt over these last week and a half and just ask that you keep Avery in your prayers as we await the biopsy results and cheer Avery on as he gains more use of his left side every day!

Avery and Kelsey are both currently out of work with an infant at home to care for and medical bills that have not started to come in yet but will soon start piling up. Many have asked what they can do to help, so we’ve started this gofundme to hopefully help take some of the financial burden off of their shoulders.
