It is with a heavy heart that I organize this fundraiser for Avery Burrell on behalf of the Burrell Family.
Please be aware that this fundraiser is the only means of fundraising authorized and approved by the Burrell family. This fundraiser is being organized by myself, Jared Grossman, a close friend of the Burrell Family.
On April 3, 2021, Avery (3 years old) was camping with her amazing family, Dad (Ryan), Mom (Melody) and baby sister Jaylynn (10 months old), when melody noticed enlarged lymph nodes on Avery’s neck and told Ryan about them. Using his years of EMS training, he knew something was wrong and they immediately rushed Avery to the ER at Asante Hospital in Grants Pass, OR, leaving their belongings at the campsite.
Multiple test were done and their worst fears as a parent were realized, their beautiful baby girl had been diagnosed with Leukemia. The conclusion was then drawn that they needed to be immediately rushed in an ambulance from Asante Hospital 4 hours to OHSU where they would finally be taken to Doernbechers Children’s hospital in Portland, OR, where they have been and will continue to be for the next month. Avery was diagnosed with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, a thankfully treatable form of Leukemia. Avery has a long journey ahead of her, and has already started the chemotherapy treatment which will last 2.5-3 years, but she’s extremely strong and has been doing so well throughout everything, with the love and support of her family we know she will beat this! The Burrell Family needs our help, Avery’s treatment will unfortunately will take years and the costs are exorbitant. We are extremely grateful for any help.
“Our daughter Avery, as some of you know her and maybe some of you don’t, is a beautiful young girl with a heart as big as the world. She is strong and resilient and loves to smile. She loves to play outside and anything to do with Disney princesses. Thank you all for the love and support in a time that nobody should ever have to go through”.
- Ryan and Melody Burrell
All proceeds from this campaign will be for the cost of all hospital stays, treatments, surgeries and rehoming costs for Avery and the entire Burrell Family during this difficult time.
On behalf of myself and the Burrell family, we thank you once again for your support for Avery and the Burrell family during this difficult time.
