AVERT, or American Volunteer Emergency Response Team, is a group of highly motivated and trained patriotic Americans delivering much-needed supplies and assistance to hard-hit disaster areas. We support all charities and first responders, deliver food, water, blankets, pet food, and other essential supplies. We are largely self-funded and 100% volunteer based, providing our own training, equipment, transport, and accommodation, so that we can maximize the impact of every dollar given and make sure it benefits those in need.
We will continue to support efforts to recover from Hurricane Harvey in Texas and Hurricane Irma in Florida. Now we are preparing to head to Puerto Rico with an emergency medical team in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria. We need your help and support to make sure we can reach those in need and offer support to those who put themselves in harm's way to save others.
GoFundMe has recently required that all accounts related to hurricane support post some additional detail to help prevent fraud. We support this, so I want to explain in some depth about how we intend to use your donations. We are committed to using all donations in direct support of delivering aid to those in need. Michael Brewer, this fund's organizer, will withdraw funds as needed to provide fuel, buy specifically requested items, and contribute financially and/or materially to the causes listed. We will also post periodic live video feeds of your donations at work. You'll see our teams in the field doing exactly what we've promised we would do.
