Support the Avenue Theatre during COVID-19 closure
The Avenue Theatre has provided the West Plains community with high quality entertainment for over 20 years. Our success comes from many local and active volunteers in the form of actors, directors, board members, sponsorships and most of all, the people who attend our shows.
In the past year, we have used our fundraising efforts to make vast improvements to our facilities. We have rebuilt our marquee, laid new carpeting, fixed our roof and ceiling, sealed and painted our walls, upgraded our light/sound booth, and installed light fixtures in the auditorium. Exciting improvements which we were ready to share with you until the cancellation of our summer musical.
In July, we made the difficult decision to temporarily close our doors until Feb. 2021 in light of the rise of COVID-19. We are making the health and safetyof our actors and patrons a priority. However, this decision doesn’t come without obstacles. The theater requires almost $1,200 per month just to remain operational. We are in need of community support to ensure we can financially get through this closure and open when it is safe to do so.
We would accept any donation size, but if you are unable to give much we thought you would consider donating $10 (which is the price for a show ticket at the door). Any help would be appreciated!
We are also looking into other fundraising events in the coming months so be on the look out for upcoming information from the Avenue Theatre.
Thank you!
