As many of you know, Rick Barthol suffered a medical emergency on the night of May 9th, resulting in the diagnosis of severe rhabdomyolosis and compartment syndrome of both legs, among a multitude of other serious medical issues. For 79 days, he remained in the hospital where he under went six surgeries on his legs, including bilateral fasciotomies, muscle removal & debridement, & skin graphs to eventually re-close both legs. On July 18th, Rick was discharged home in preparation to begin outpatient physical therapy three days a week, a process where he will begin the long & grueling journey of learning to walk again and regaining strength and function in all four affected limbs. By the grace of God, he continues to defy all odds, & we know this isn’t a matter of if, but WHEN. All donations are greatly appreciated & will aide in Rick’s recovery & battle to walk again.
