Hi, I'm Tiffiny - Ava's mum!
We are incredibly proud to share that our daughter Ava, has been invited to be in the U13/14 International Girls Soccer Squad, to tour Japan in December 2026 for 16 days!
This amazing opportunity came after Ava was recognised for her dedication, talent, sportsmanship, and passion for football/soccer. Being invited to tour internationally is a huge honour and something she has worked hard towards concurrently each year with selections across representative teams. This is a HUGE opportunity for Ava, coming from our small country town of St George, in South West Queensland. This will be Ava's very first experience on a plane and her first experience of a different culture.
During this tour, Ava will have the chance to:
⚽ Compete against high-level international J-League teams
⚽ Represent Australia alongside other talented young athletes
⚽ Experience new cultures and build lifelong friendships
⚽ Grow both on and off the field through this once-in-a-lifetime experience
Ava will compete with the Australian team against J-League Academy football/soccer teams including
2 matches in Tokyo
2 matches in Regional Japan
1 match in Kyoto
2 matches in Hiroshima
and a final match in Tokyo again, before leaving to return back to Australia.
As exciting as this opportunity for Ava is, the costs involved are significant. We are fundraising to help cover:
✈️ Flights and travel expenses (For Ava and 1 x parent to travel with and support her)
Team uniforms and training gear
⚽ Tournament and participation fees
Anyone who knows Ava knows how much football/soccer means to her. She trains hard when it's go time, gives everything her all, is always encouraging of other players no matter her own position or outcome, and never lets the challenge of where we live geographically hold her back. Her grit, faith, determination and passion for the sport is what has led to this opportunity.
We would wholeheartedly love to help make this opportunity possible for Ava, however without the generous help of our communities and families, it just simply will not be possible.
Every donation — no matter how big or small — will make a genuine difference & help Ava get one step closer to playing on the football/soccer fields across Japan in December.
If you are unable to donate, simply sharing Ava's page with friends, family, or local businesses would mean the world to us.
Thank you so much for supporting Ava’s journey and believing in young female athletes chasing their dreams.
With gratitude,
Tiffiny, Ava & the Urquhart Family
