Ava’s road to recovery- Very Severe Aplastic Anemia

Donation protected
Hi, I’m Allison, and my sister and her family need all the help that they can get right now. My sister, Amberly, and her family had their lives turned upside down on January 29th. My 5 year old niece, Ava Steeve, was admitted to the ICU that day with a platelet count of 0, hemoglobin of 2.2, RBC’s of 0.75 and her neutrophil count was and continues to be 0. She was diagnosed with Very Severe Aplastic Anemia (VSAA) after a bone marrow biopsy. VSAA is a type of bone marrow failure that is life threatening if not treated. Ava had a port placed and has been in and out of the hospital the past 2 months due to her nonexistent immune system. She is having to have frequent blood and platelet transfusions until she can get a bone marrow transplant (BMT). Ava will have to go out of state for the BMT and it will require her to undergo chemotherapy and radiation and she’ll have a lengthy multiple weeks/months long hospital stay. This is going to be a scary and lengthy, as well as costly, time for my sister and her family. I’m setting up this GoFundMe for my sister and her family so that they can focus more on Ava’s recovery and less on the bills that are already stacking up. I know they would appreciate any donations to help with these medical costs. Thank you so much from our whole family!
