Ava's GoFundMe

Our dear friend and devoted veterinarian, Ava Riccardi has been diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma breast cancer. It’s an aggressive form of breast cancer but a treatable one. Today she receives her first dose of chemotherapy. She will go through six months of chemo and the possibility of a major surgery followed by radiation depending on the response of the treatment.
Ava has spent her veterinary career taking excellent care of her clients horses, dogs and cats; taking care of their everyday needs along with their unexpected emergencies. She’s been there for us in every type of weather and time of day or night. Now it’s time for us to come to her aid.
Ava will have to greatly reduce her work load in response to the debilitating effects of chemotherapy. She will be immunocompromised and won’t be able to come in contact with anyone that may be sick with flu, cold etc.
She’ll need to eat well, reduce stress, get quality sleep and let the chemo do its job without outside interference.
It’s time for us to step up to the plate to help her with the financial end of this unpleasant journey. We need to do as much as we can so that she can get through this without the fear of her bills not getting paid.
She expects this to be a one year process of receiving chemotherapy, having surgery, then radiation, then recovery.
She and her husband, Chuck Jones, will be moving out of their home that is known to have mold present. A friend has generously given them a guest house on her property to move into where Ava can be assured she won’t be exposed to environmental stressors. On top of all this. she and Chuck are faced with the decision of building a new home on their property or purchasing a new modular home that will offer them a safe environment.
Please consider a generous donation to help our friend Ava during this most difficult time.
