Ava’s Faith Through Aplastic Anemia

Donation protected
I am starting this GoFundMe on behalf of the Wood Family in support of their daughter, Ava, and their journey with Aplastic Anemia.

Ava, Josh and Jennifer’s precious daughter, was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia on Friday, December 28th, 2018. The money raised here will be used by Josh and Jen to relieve some of the financial stress that comes with having a critically ill child. Please take a moment to read the below post from Ava’s mom, Jennifer.

“Ava was a normal, healthy, active 9 year old little girl until December 2018. It all started with just a bruise but quickly spiraled from there. On December 28th, Ava was diagnosed with a bone marrow failure disease called Aplastic Anemia. Her bone marrow no longer produces Red Blood Cells, White Blood Cells or Platelets. These are the 3 main components of blood. So in essence, Ava doesn't make blood and is dependent on blood and platelet transfusions. She attends clinic 2-3 times a week and receives transfusions as needed, which can take anywhere from 6-10 hours depending on blood availability. Immunosuppression therapy was attempted but she has been non-responsive. Our next step is a Bone Marrow Transplant, which will require chemotherapy and lengthy hospitalization ranging from 38-45 days, longer if complications arise. Ava and our family have a long road ahead. We are grateful for the community surrounding us with love, encouragement and support. Through the generosity of others, we are able to focus on Ava's care and treatment as we prepare for the battle ahead of us. Please continue to pray for Ava, her team of doctors and nurses, blood donors who are sustaining her and our family. - With Love and Gratitude - Jen and Josh"

As stated above, they have a long road ahead of them. Please consider donating if you can. A Facebook page was started to share updates on Ava's fight: "Ava's Faith Through Aplastic Anemia". Additionally, please pray for Josh and Jen, for Ava, and for Ava’s precious siblings Owen and Izzy. This family deserves all the support in the world. They are wonderful people who would, without hesitation, do the same for others.

Thanks for reading Ava’s Story ♥️
