Ava’s Treatment Fund
Describing just how wonderful Ava is…is a very tall order.
In the words of her mom, “Ava is the smartest, strongest, bravest, most beautiful soul.” She is the most patient big sister and such a kind friend. She is a spunky 11 year old girl, who loves to read, make art projects and ride her scooter.
On April 24, 2020, Ava’s world was turned upside down. After a couple weeks of unexplained pain and diagnostic tests, Ava was diagnosed with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. It is a cancer of the white blood cells that occurs in the bone marrow. Ava will be starting chemotherapy April 27, 2020. She will receive injections directly into her spine twice weekly for Phase 1. (There are 4 expected phases of treatment.)
Chemotherapy will continue for at least 2 ½ years. Due to the nature of her cancer, her treatment needs to be aggressive. Her immune system will be very compromised. The doctors have set strict restrictions for Ava. She will not be able to start middle school or participate in any extracurricular activities. Her Oncologist’s office will be setting her up with teachers to homeschool her.
Ava’s family is now faced with an enormous emotional & financial burden.
All donations will go directly toward Ava’s treatments and the medical expenses that the family will incur. Every amount will help, so please share this page with your family and friends.
Thank you so much for your generosity and support!
We look forward to the day we can celebrate Ava being cancer free!
Please keep Ava & her family in your thoughts and prayers.
