Saving California Carolina Dogs

Its been a busy couple months behind the scenes for LOVAR and Annie's Orphans. With cooperation from the breeder, we have continued to accept more Carolina Dogs into rescue from the Northern CA court case to prevent any from being impounded. We are now in the process of getting them ready for foster or adoptive homes.

In addition, six have already been placed in their permanent homes with wonderful families.

While we have been waiting in anticipation to share these developments with you, our priority has always been first and foremost the safety of these dogs that still needed rescued and due to the delicate nature of that, as well as the ongoing court case, we have not been able to reveal the day to day operations that have been taking place, but rest assured, our work and focus has centered around this every day. We will look forward to sharing each one of these dogs with you and their development.

We greatly appreciate all the support we've received thus far, and want to thank all of those who donated toward our fund raisers. And a special THANK YOU to Amber Mazzoni for sacrificing 2 weekends for helping with long distance transports, as well as Blanche Meister for transportation and home check visits and coordination until she returned back to work. To our fosters and ultimately, the wonderful families who have so far provided wonderful homes to these dogs, THANK YOU!

We are now actively looking for foster homes (or foster-to-adopt) with experience with undersocialized dogs. If you are interested in helping, please fill out an application at

With the additional dogs, comes additional expenses and vetting costs incurred we are also seeking additional donations to our gofundme to help defray the costs. If you are able, every little bit helps our mission "Leave no Carolina Dog behind". On behalf of everyone that has been working so hard behind the scenes, we want to say a HUGE Thank you!! Your efforts are greatly appreciated!!

We will continue to provide updates as we are able.
