Get the Rights to Write a Musical

For nearly a decade now, I have wanted to write a musical. It took years, but eventually, I found the perfect story to adapt. I have spent the better part of two years fighting to obtain the rights, and it has reached the point where I need to hire an entertainment attorney to help me. I've spoken with the author of the story, and he loves the idea of a musical. It's just legal hoops I need to jump through, before the rights are mine.

This money will be used to hire the entertainment attorney to obtain the rights. Once a contract is drawn up, I will likely need money to purchase the rights. Anything you can give to help out would be greatly appreciated, as writing and producing a musical is my lifelong dream. You are helping fulfill something I have wanted since grade school. 

I've already written the majority of the libretto and music. The only barrier in my way is money. Each hour of the attorney's time is $300, to put things in perspective.

To clarify, I am actually qualified to write a musical. I have just recently earned my bachelor's degree in music composition. I've played the violin for as long as I can remember, so I am quite familiar with the professional world of music.
