I will be donating 10 % of the funds raised to the Mighty Hearts Project, to help support training programs for Canine Mitral Valve Repair Surgery in the U.S.A. This surgery would have saved Ava’s life but is unavailable in the United States.  In fact, there are only 3 surgeons world-wide that know how to perform this surgery successfully. The University of Florida of Veterinary Medicine Hospital will be hosting a (MVR) surgical exchange program this July,  bringing in the top surgeon to train U.S. surgical teams to perform this operation. This surgery has over a 90% success rate, 85% of dogs go completely off their medication after recovering from this procedure and lives a healthy long life. Funding programs like this will save many of our canine companions lives, especially since this disease is found in young dogs as well.
On a personal note:
Ava was my soulmate. She absorbed my pain during recent multiple, back 2 back hardships.  She suffered a heart attack in November and developed CHF & Mitral Valve Disease. To think that only 6 months ago she was a healthy, happy, bouncy, energetic, pup, makes her loss even harder to accept. She was connected to my heart and soul. Her health & weight declined since November. Heart disease is tough one because her quality of life would be so great and then the very next day or week she would be knocking on death's door struggling to breathe.
During her last months, she was on an overwhelming medication program. Every 8-12 hrs, i had to give her 8 syringes of various medicines, again in the evenings, in addition to another 5 syringes of nutrition twice a day. She had a team of countless specialist including Cardiologist, Criticalist, and Internist.
Ava would have been 11 years old next month but today her team and I agreed it was time to let her go.
This all happened at the worst possible timing for me financially. 
I am asking for help. I have over 13,600k in vet bills to pay off, that simply overwhelms me because I already struggle to care for so many animals. In addition, I am asking for your support of the Mighty Hearts Project, which is dear to my heart and directly will make a difference by bringing exchange training programs for this medical procedure to the United States, that could have saved a dog like mine.
