Last week our family received devastating news that turned our lives upside down. My niece Ava, who is 1.5 years old, was diagnosed with ALL (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia) after my sister noticed some bruising and petechiae on her skin. Ava was hospitalized immediately at Kaiser Fontana where she started receiving chemotherapy. This type of blood cancer comes on quickly and moves rapidly. The average treatment time is 2.5 years with an ALL diagnosis. This will be the most difficult and challenging time for our family as we navigate this journey together. Ava’s parents Melanie and Jorge need your support more than ever as they fight alongside their daughter during her biggest battle. They will be traveling to the hospital twice a week in order to receive chemo, blood transfusions, labs and spinal taps. All donations will go towards travel, food, lodging and bills.
