I am grateful for my daughter Ava Zandra Harris who is 14 years old and has been  diagnosed with major depression with multiple features. Including self-harm, suicidal thoughts and severe anxiety. We have been private with Ava's struggles until now. In full transparency she has been in and out of the hospital for the past 4 months. Only a few friends have known her internal struggles that have caused trauma in her life. In order to keep Ava from self-harming and possibly taking her life we have reached a point where we have maxed out all our insurance possibilities.  Due to the many hospitalizations she has had we now have to pay out of pocket for any additional treatments and therapy she needs.  She has intense therapies which began yesterday. Those include intensive partial hospitalization,  therapy consisting of EMDR, ETT, cognitive behavioral and psychotherapy. It has taken months to find a team of skilled doctors and therapists to be able to help her regain her joy and have the courage to face this devil head on. I would do anything to have my daughter back and feel safe with herself. As a single mom with four kids I hate to say that the struggle is real. Many that know me, would say I'm very independent and never ask for help. My parents have had to step in this past year to help with the financial burden as well as Ava's dad. Just yesterday I picked up my daughter from the hospital for the fourth time in four months. I never thought we would ever be in this position but we are truly fighting for Ava to want to have a life with purpose and happiness. The needs are heavy and the suffering Ava is experiencing is unbearable.  Our family has endured some difficult times watching her struggling with suicidal thoughts. As her mom, it's excruciating to watch her suffer and I would do anything for my daughter. I just can't financially provide the treatments she needs. So in her name I'm asking for help  for the first time in my life.
