Hello everyone,
I'm Richard Lederer, a friend of Akram Marwan Mohammed Abu Reda, who lives with his family in Gaza. I live in Vienna and have known Akram for years through social media. All donations will go directly to Akram.
We launched this campaign to support Akram and his family, who are living through an indescribable humanitarian tragedy. Since the beginning of the war in Gaza, Akram has not only lost his father—an ambulance driver who was killed while performing his humanitarian duty when the ambulance was targeted—but also his child, in one of the most devastating losses a person can experience.
Akram and his family had a small house that was completely destroyed by airstrikes. Even the tent they took refuge in after being displaced was not spared. Today, Akram and his family live in makeshift tents, in unbearable conditions, suffering from hunger, cold, and the scorching sun, without the most basic necessities for a dignified life. During this war, Akram also lost his uncle and several relatives and friends. He was forcibly displaced from his border region in the early hours of the conflict, moving between schools and shelters before being left to face his fate in tents that offered no protection.
The war is not over, and hunger persists. The family relies almost entirely on food aid to survive. In this harsh reality, we appeal for your support to help Akram and his family secure their basic needs and help them persevere or find a path to safety. Every contribution, no matter how small, means a great deal.
