For those of you who may not know, my step-father unexpectedly passed away of a heart attack on November 28, 2016 in the early morning hours.

My mother and father were married for 28 years and had been together for 30 years - since my sister and I were five and seven years old.

My father was a kind, gentle, and soft spoken man who loved and cared for my mother unconditionally. My father helped raise a daughter with celebral palsy and a son who was over prescriptioned on ritalin, no questions asked.  For those of you who knew him, you would agree.

Yesterday, I learned my parents did not have life insurance and were undergoing a bankruptcy due to surmounting medical bills that we did not know.

Due to these conditions, we are unable to provide a formal burial, so we've decided to cremate. After meeting with the funeral director today, we were able to reduce cremation expenses from $6,500 to around $1,800.00 by reducing additional services.

If you know me, I'm not the one to ask anybody for help nor do I typically let anyone ever help me do anything. I usally keep everything bottled up inside and deal with it as it comes, but we need some help burying my father as we also have additional financial expenses requiring satisfying.
