My name is Teri Mata.  My mother n law, Maria Mata, was first diagnosed with colon cancer two years ago.  She lives in San Bernardino, California.  She was able to go cancer free for 1 1/2 years.  Last November, she went back to the hospital several times due to pain in her stomach.  She was "tossed aside" several times.  When someone finally took her complaint seriously it was too late.  The cancer had come back very aggressively.  It had returned to her colon and had also spread to her upper stomach and on into to her lungs.  The doctor said she had 1 to 3 months but he doubted shed would make it longer than a month. She chose to go home and go on hospice.  I just returned from spending 2 weeks helping take care of her and during that time I watched her decline very quickly.  She is currently at home and the family is keeping her comfortable with pain medications.  Her body is filling up with fluid and she is not expected to make it much longer.  

Maria has no life insurance.  She  wishes be cremated.  The family is needing assistance to help pay for the cost of the cremation along with the memorial service.  

Maria is a very sweet lady and has always been a big help to others in need.  She has opened her house up many times when others needed a place to stay.  She has worked with people with special needs and alway went above and beyond to help her consumers.

Please take a moment to consider helping my "other" family with this need.  I know that any amount will be helpful and will mean a lot to the family.
