It kills me to have to ask for help, but what every dachshund owner fears, has happened. She has been diagnosed with IVDD.

And I’m destroyed!

She has been insured from the day I picked her up because I wanted to make sure that no matter what happened, she would always be covered. But today after telling the vet to refer me to the specialist for an MRI and surgery, I checked my policy and found it doesn’t cover her for this.

She is my first baby, my best friend and has been by my side throughout my journey to become a mum. She’s cuddled me and licked my tears away through all of the disappointments and failed cycles. She’s been with me, loving me and giving me strength when my Dad died. I owe her to do everything possible to get her well again.

Whatever you can do to help, me and autumn will be so very grateful.
