Hello friends,

I am writing this on behalf of my dear Autumn, who I am happy to share is scheduled for gender affirming surgery on February 16th. This news comes after over 3 years of waitlists, and is obviously very exciting for Autumn. This procedure will significantly reduce gender dysphoria that Autumn experiences and help them feel more confident and at home in her body.

The recovery process of this procedure is long (2 months at minimum, often longer) and can be quite difficult. While the majority of the procedural costs involved are covered by Alberta Healthcare, the cost of some supplies and medication, as well as the recovery period, are not. Autumn's income comes from theatre contracts, which means she does not have access to any form of medical leave or employment insurance. They have already had to turn down multiple contracts that would be physically impossible to do during bedrest, and this loss of income will create a financial strain on her.

Because of this, I'm asking for support from our community in order to help Autumn recover as comfortably as possible. Any money you donate will go towards Autumn's basic needs, including: rent, groceries, utility bills, and medical supplies necessary for recovery. There is absolutely no obligation to donate, but anything you can spare will be greatly appreciated and a huge help. I would also be grateful if you could share this fundraiser! That helps so much too!

This is a life-changing opportunity for Autumn, at a period of time and in a place (we love you Alberta!) where being trans is challenging and scary. Thank you for your support in making one trans person's life a little bit easier.
