My daughter Autumn just graduated from high school & we're SO proud of her. But Instead of facing decisions of boyfriends, cars and college dreams, she’s facing a devastating neurodegenerative brain disease, called Juvenile Huntington’s Disease.

Imagine having ALL of the symptoms of ALS, Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s disease all at once – That’s Autumn’s reality, and sadly her time is limited. But Autumn is determined to share her message of strength and hope, which is why last year we raised donations, and embarked on an unforgettable Adventures for Autumn -East Coast Road Trip visiting all of our friends, family and followers along the way.

Now Autumn has another dream; to experience the beauty of the West Coast – and on top of that, she wants to write a book inspired by our journeys. This book will reflect her strengths & struggles with the hope that it will inspire others to enjoy all the little things life has to offer - even through the toughest times.

Autumn is an adventurer, and she LOVES to travel and explore new places more than anything! Seeing new scenery, nature and animals bring her so much joy and inspire her! Autumn especially loves the ocean – more specifically she loves the California coast! Last year in San Diego, when we went down to the beach to watch the sunset – it was the happiest I had seen her in a long time, and I want to give her more moments like that.

Autumns deserves to be happy and that’s why for her graduation, I'm taking Autumn on a Pacific Coast Road Trip!! This trip will be an unforgettable adventure that is sure to bring her peace and happiness. As I said, Autumn has a dream to write a book and I’d like to use this trip as an opportunity to inspire her writing! But it won’t be just any book; it’ll be a visual journal of our journey. Each day I’ll paint what inspires us, and Autumn will add her powerful thoughts & words – creating a unique blend of art and hope.

Thanks to the generous NYA Scholarship that Autumn received, just a few days after graduation we’ll be driving to Spokane for HDSA’S Annual Convention. This is huge event for our rare disease community, and it’s an event that we both very much look forward too! Traveling to Spokane to attend convention in person, surrounded by our loving community, making new friends and reuniting with old friends- It’s a treat in itself, and we can’t wait!!! But after Spokane is when Autumns graduation gift begins, and that gift is a 2 week - mom and daughter - camper van road trip - down the Pacific Coast Highway! But I need your help to make this gift happen.

I’ll be renting a camper van for 14 days to take Autumn on this amazing adventure. Renting a camper van will be essential for Autumn’s comfort and safety during our travels and your donation will ensure the accessibility she needs to make this trip unforgettable and full of the joy that she deserves. This road trip is more than just an adventure; it’s about creating lasting memories and capturing the joy of the present, knowing time is precious for my beautiful daughter.

Your generous donations will go a long way and will cover the following:

-14 Day Camper Van Rental: $3,000-$5,000 (for accessibility and comfort)

-Gas: $60 per day / = $840 (approximately 14 days)

-Campsites: $35 per day / = $490 (approximately 14 days)

-Food/Activities: $150 per day / = $2,100 (approximately 14 days)

-Writing materials/Paint Supplies - $150 max

The plan is not to have a plan. We’re on “Autumn time”. We will have 2 weeks to drive down along the coast from Washington to California, and we’ll see what we see and stop when we want to stop! We will take our time as we enjoy every moment, and along the way. We’ll stop at every state park, national park, scenic pull off and historic site that we feel like. We’ll drive over bridges and through forests and we’ll marvel at the cascading waterfalls. We’ll see beautiful wildlife. We will take in the beauty of the ocean as we watch the waves crash against the rocks. We’ll build drip castles on the beach and bury our toes in the sand. We will witness many sunsets in an array of colors. We will pet as many dogs as possible. We will camp on the beach. We will sing in the van, as loud as we can. We will collect rocks & seashells. We will explore the tide pools. We will wear sunhats & drink lemonade. We will sit back and watch all the surfers. We will go whale watching. We will write Autumn’s book! We will have SO much fun and we will cherish every single memory created. We will make so many new friends along the way and (like always) we will share our unforgettable journey with the world though our various social media platforms!
