Bird scaring solution for agriculture

Birds cause 50-70% yield loss on farms close to water, which means more than 50.000 EUR monetary loss / 100 Ha. Current scaring techniques such as gas cannons or stationary scarecrows are ineffective as birds adapt to them, leaving farmers exposed to damage. We are working on the most effective scaring device: a completely autonomous drone platform, specifically designed for agriculture.

In order to prove our idea and be able to continue the development, we have to demonstrate the effectiveness of our drone prototype. So we decided to organize the largest bird-scaring research project in agriculture, which consists of continuous testing and data collection for 4-6 weeks on a selected farm this autumn. The project requires us to set up a temporary office on the farm, watch the drone fly all day, every day and record observations about birds' eating habits, adaptation and damage.

We need your support to further develop our idea and prevent food loss in agriculture all across the globe. The fund will be used to help cover the material costs and necessary man-power for the project duration (November - December).

It is important to note that we are not harming the birds and only cause as little stress as possible with the scaring. Birds were originally feeding alongside the shores from seaweed and grass, but as more cultivated fields appeared they moved to farmland for a more convenient food source. Our solution pushes the birds back to their original area, providing peace for both farmers and birds.
