Automatic School Gates for Witney Community Primary School
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Rachel Jones and I am the office manager at Witney Community Primary School. We are a primary school of 220 children including a nursery from 2 years.
Our school was established on March 28th 1938 just before Britain entered the Second World War. During wartime the school was closed and the building was used to look after evacuees.
Being built in the 1930s offers many benefits to Witney Community Primary School, we have lots of internal space and beautiful expansive grounds that bring so many benefits to our children.
What we do not have is adequate parking for parents and carers dropping and collecting their children and this directly impacts our neighbours and the surrounding environment.
Like all schools, safeguarding is our top priority and we would like to replace our old gates and reposition new gates at the top of the drive by the school building. This will allow us to give over a large piece of land, currently unused by the children, to a parental drop off zone where parents could stop, allow their child out of the vehicle and into the care of a staff member thus removing the need to park on the Hailey Road.
This would make the whole process of arriving at school safer, friendlier to the environment and better for the local community.
Anything you can afford will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
