In February 2019 Selena’s life changed dramatically.  She had a medical event that left her numb on her right side, unable to use her right hand, and very difficult to walk due to a lack of balance and a drop foot. We didn’t know what was happening but we’re convinced it would be fixed and she would be back to work soon.  Not so. 

Since it happened things have only gotten worse. She’s had a couple of surgeries ... one on her neck/spine and one on her hand. Is in excruciating pain all the time and now has no feeling on the left side of her body.  But she doesn’t yet have a diagnosis!!

Why set this up now, you ask?  With things getting worse and still no diagnosis we are starting to find more ways to make her life easier. Forexample, she has a hard time getting into the tub to shower so need to redo her bathroom. She also has Type 1 diabetes that is being negatively affected by whatever is going on and huge anxiety.  A care dog would be a great asset asher blood sugars plummet during the night. She also is not covered by disability by her former employer. 

Having said this, even with only one hand and an eye condition she has been sewing face masks to donate to local hospitals etc. In addition to the hundreds she has donated, she is also providing them to individuals for donations. She is very hardworking and caring ... it is time thatshe realizes she is not in this alone!  Her two young children are growing up quickly as they try to help her. Selena is only 37.
