Hello Everyone, many of you have been following my story and CaringBridge posts since I was in an accident on February 23 while skiing with my family in Wausau, Wisconsin.
God graciously spared my life and has increased my awareness of my identity as a child of His. This has been such an encouragement to me as I know that my identity is not about me walking, mountain biking, running, or anything else that I used to be able to do but rather it is who I am in Christ that makes me complete. There is such a hope and joy in this and nothing can take that away even in the midst of our pain and suffering here on this earth.
Currently, I am restricted to mobility mostly above the chest, and so we are working to figure out steps and plans for our house and setting up this Go Fund Me for those of you who would like to contribute to the modifications needed.
Thank you to the many of you are praying for healing - I am certainly hoping in the wonderful will of God that I will walk again someday. In the meantime, there’s joy in resting in Him. Currently it looks like the process may be quite long as it can take a year or more to really know what functionality may return, so this Go Fund Me is to get the fundraising process going so that I can move home and spend time with my family in the next year while waiting on God for what he will provide.
My family and I have felt such an outpouring of love, support, prayers, and care. We are so grateful to all of you and God for what he is doing. May His name be glorified and may He be the one who gets praise through this process.
The next several weeks will truly dictate how progressed I will be when I head home around the end of March, so I put together an initial list below based on likely where these funds would be used over the course of the coming months.
Medical expenses
First floor home modifications for accessibility
Master Bedroom remodel for accessibility
Stair lift
New bed or bed modifications
Manual wheelchair expenses
Car modifications
We have decided to not set a specific goal at this time. We are trusting in God that He will provide all that we need. If you feel led by God to contribute feel free to do so.
