A.B.A. for Autistic Animator Layla

Donation protected
Layla was not diagnosed with autism until 13 years of age, which means that she's missed out on crucial developmental milestones and lags in many areas. The best hope she has is a therapy called Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA), which has shown great promise in equipping autistic people with coping mechanisms, social skills, and organizational tools.

Layla has been writing comics, stories, scripts, and poetry since she was old enough to pick up a pencil. She's a junior at Denver School of the Arts in the film program and just premiered a documentary about herself and her experience with autism. She dreams of attending the California Institute of the Arts and becoming an animator with Pixar, but has struggled in school her entire academic life. ABA could change that for her.

To gain the skills she needs to achieve her goals, she would need two hours of ABA a day, five days a week, until she graduates from high school. Insurance does not cover this treatment. It is $4000 per month and far out of financial reach for our family. Our goal of $80,000 would fund her treatment through the end of high school.

Layla has so many gifts. ABA can give her the tools she needs to share these gifts with the world.
