My name is JJ Mata. I am currently representing myself in a federal civil lawsuit against Expedia Group for violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), discrimination based on autism (Level 1), and wrongful termination in retaliation for reporting workplace misconduct. This case stems from a pattern of corporate negligence and systemic hostility toward neurodivergent employees.
I received a right-to-sue letter from the EEOC last year and filed my case in federal court in January. I am prepared for trial, with over 50 pieces of documentary and audiovisual evidence—including recordings, emails, and corroborating documents. I have a Rule 26(f) conference pending and have refused to be intimidated into dropping the case despite pressure.
I’m autistic (Level 1) and live with PTSD. I worked as a fraud investigator for Expedia Group, uncovering unethical behavior, and when I tried to hold the company accountable, they fired me. Instead of backing down, I filed a civil lawsuit in U.S. Federal Court without a lawyer—because justice shouldn’t depend on whether you can afford one.
The case 1:25-cv-00004-ADA-SH is in the Western District of Texas. I have over 50 pieces of solid evidence: emails, audio, video, and internal documents that prove my claims. But litigation is expensive—and I’m out here fighting a billion-dollar company alone.
Funding Purpose:
I am seeking funding to support the following:
- Survival costs while pursuing this lawsuit
- Filing fees, printing, and court-related expenses
- Transportation and equipment needed to present evidence in court
Why This Case Has Merit:
- The case has passed federal screening and is actively docketed.
- I possess strong evidence (including audio and video) that substantiates my claims.
- Defendant is a publicly traded company with the ability to pay.
- I am committed to pursuing this case to trial if necessary without any legal experience.
- A favorable ruling or settlement is likely, especially under the ADA and civil rights law.
Why This Matters:
This isn’t just about me—it’s about the rights of disabled employees, whistleblowers, and neurodivergent people across the country who are punished for speaking truth to power. If I win, it won’t just be a victory for me—it could set a precedent that corporate abuse of disabled workers won’t go unchecked.
How You Can Help:
- Donate any amount—every bit helps.
- Share this campaign with friends, activists, and communities who support disability rights and workplace justice.
- Follow my updates as I take this case all the way to court.
I may be fighting alone in court, but I don’t have to be alone out here.
With your support, I can stand up to corporate power and demand justice—not just for myself, but for everyone they’ve wronged.
Thank you.
