Autistic Comic Book Writer dreams of publishing.

Donation protected

My name is Glenn Ackom. Having autism hasn’t stopped me in life. I move forward and go on. Some people put barriers in my way and limitations on what they think I can do. That has not stopped me. I go on and on.
Writing comic books has been fun and adventurous. It helps me cope. Sometimes life is hard. So many that are close to me have passed. Writing has helped me deal with life, and now soon, I’m hoping to have my own comic books out there. This is one of my dreams, to have my own work out there, to go to comic book conventions, to meet people, to share my story, and to touch people’s lives.
My biggest dream is that I want to make a difference for those who have autism.
We can do more than you think we can.

Glenn Ackom

Cover Idea by artist Tom Morgan

Glenn Ackom has been my friend for almost 35 years. We were 20 years old when we met. When he got married, I drove more than 700 miles to be there with him. Time passed and they had a son. A few years later, Glenn called me in the middle of the night to say his wife had died.
Through the joys and the sorrows, Glenn's life has been a journey of successes. From participating as a youth in the Special Olympics, to holding down a full time job, and from learning to read as a young adult, to writing two books of poetry and many comic books, Glenn has come a long way. His life has been spent in overcoming challenges, and in doing so much more than anyone ever thought he could.
Glenn is now remarried, living in Missoula, Montana, and needs your help to get his first comic book published.
Glenn Ackom is a doer, a determined individual who succeeds despite the odds, despite the circumstances, and despite the critics. He’s put in the effort and the energy, has faced and overcome challenges, and has worked so hard to see his dreams fulfilled. Right now, and for the past four years, the thing he most wants to do is get his comic book published.
Through the years, Glenn has made many friends in the comic book business. They encourage his work and have even done some drawings for him. His friend and mentor, Philip Russertt, is a comic book publisher with access to talented artists. Many of them are also willing to help Glenn with his dream. A few pages have already been drawn by Kevin Stewart. One version of the cover was a commission, inked by Tom Morgan.
Even with friends in the right places, artist and publishing costs can add up, but Glenn Ackom is not easily deterred. He’s not a quitter, and he does not stop. He’s come so far, accomplished so much, and still has so many things he wants to do. He’s worked tirelessly to get this project to where it is today, and now he needs your help.
Glenn will surely see this vision to completion, but he needs your help to get his dream to the comic book stand.
Will you help him?
