The Lost Autistic Kids of the Covid-19 Pandemic
Imagine being trapped in a body and a brain that can’t keep up with your lighting fast thoughts. Imagine wanting to share the depths of your feelings and thoughts… but your brain gets so overwhelmed that you can’t speak all your thoughts out loud before the listener gives up and walks away. Imagine wanting to be social, but you’re so misunderstood and so easily dismissed by others, that you’ve simply given up trying.
This is only a fraction of the obstacles someone with Autism faces every day.
Imagine that you are capable of telling funny jokes, experiencing feelings of great depth, thinking layered thoughts, having incredible empathy, and loving others deeply, but not a single soul takes the time to listen to you. Instead, people invent expensive therapies that you can’t afford, and they regulate your life in a way that makes you feel like you’re in dog obedience classes (and you’re the dog)!
When you were young, people wanted to help you. After you grew up and were no longer “a cute child”, no one cared to help you anymore. Therapies and government programs disappeared on your 18th birthday, and no employer wants to hire you. Until today, you remain financially dependent, misunderstood, ignored, and you are still trapped in a body that feels and senses everything to unbearable, heightened levels that would make anyone who wasn’t born with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) cry if they experienced 5 minutes of what you experience on a daily basis.
At Autistalline, we have great compassion for the Autistic community. We love the Autistic community so much that we are developing and manufacturing Autistic Sensory Overload glasses and our mission is to give them away for FREE to anyone with an ASD diagnosis.
Our quest to help the Autistic community has led us to begin assembling an Advisory Board filled with Autistic individuals under 18. They will give our Board of Directors and decision makers crucial input and advice, so we can hear the voices and perspectives of the individuals that we want to help the most.
Since we want to alleviate the financial burden on those with Autism, we’re turning to you, the non-Autistic community, to donate enough funds to help us develop, manufacture, and give away these glasses for free to the community that needs it the most.
