We have been raising money to provide Emily with an assistance dog for Autism for many years. We are pretty close to our goal of $15,000.
Emily is in the 10th grade and our hope was that she will have an assistance dog through most of her highschool career. It looks like that will happen! We have recently been informed that Highland Canine Training thinks they have found the perfect match, Radar, a Swissy Doodle. We are now at the point that all money will be due soon. All help is greatly appreciated.
"Autism Service Dogs have proven to be an asset for children diagnosed with autism and their families. These dogs provide a social “bridge” for children who are often excluded by others because of their behavior or lack of social interaction. These well-trained autism service dogs can also provide comfort as well as calm children who suffer from autism. Autistic children who run away and hide can also be quickly and easily found by autism service dogs that are trained to locate them. These are just a few of the advantages of having a trained service dog to assist an autistic child." http://autismassistancedog.com/services-view/autism-service-dogs/
Emily has truly been a blessing to our family. Now blessings do not always come in pretty little packages. Sometimes blessings are disguised by tears and heartache. God blesses us in so many ways we cannot begin to understand. Although this adventure has been a struggle, I know God has trusted me with this special gift.
Thank you for your prayers, support, and contributions.
