Trauma-informed Wellness Mission for Disability Community

Donation protected
Hi there, I’m Jessica Woolson - a trauma-informed behavior analyst, social emotional learning facilitator, and advocate for the disability community with over ten years of experience working in behavioral healthcare and educational settings.

My Work: I founded The Wellness and Behavior Collective with the mission of bringing together diverse communities within behavioral healthcare and educational settings to co-create a culture of trauma-informed care and resilience. We offer continuing education, community-based learning, collaboration, consultation, and coaching services. My work extends to marginalized communities, professionals, educators, parents, and autistic children, teens, and adults.

The Problem:
Many systems of care and education lack trauma-informed organizational practices that honor the unique experiences of neurodivergent and disabled individuals. This gap often leads to stress, burnout, turnover, and additional barriers to compassionate and humanity-centered care for those who need it most.

Our Vision for Change:
At The Wellness and Behavior Collective, we envision a future where trauma-informed practices are the standard in all systems of care. By empowering professionals with tools to create safe, inclusive, and supportive environments, we’re fostering systemic change that will ripple out to positively impact individuals, families, and communities for years to come.

Our Commitment:
The Wellness and Behavior Collective is committed to committed to closing this gap by offering:
  • Trauma-Informed Wellness & Behavior Workshops that focus on both personal and professional development for professionals and caregivers.
  • Tools for Fostering Resilience to improve practitioner and caregiver well-being to enhance service delivery
  • Accessible Wellness Services & Workshops to parents and caregivers within the disability community who are facing higher levels of stress, burnout, marital discord and divorce, and financial barriers.
  • Ongoing Support and Resources to help organizations sustain trauma-informed systems of care, DEIA practices, and retain passionate practitioners and educators.

The Impact of Our Work So Far:
Our Trauma-informed Wellness and Behavior workshops have already made a lasting impact on practitioners and organizations.

"The Trauma-Informed Care Workshop was a transformative experience for our team, providing valuable insights into understanding and addressing the effects of trauma with empathy and intentionality. The training equipped us with practical strategies to create a safer, more supportive environment for the individuals we serve, fostering trust and reducing anxiety. It also strengthened our team’s ability to respond to challenges with compassion and effectiveness, enhancing both client outcomes and workplace dynamics."

This is the heart of what we do: fostering meaningful change, equipping professionals with trauma-informed strategies, and sparking a desire for continued learning and growth. Your support will allow us to expand these transformative workshops to more behavioral healthcare, educational and ABA organizations, and parents and caregivers as we create a ripple effect of positive change in the disability community.

Our Goal:
We are raising $15,000 to support the growth of The Wellness and Behavior Collective. Every contribution you give will directly contribute to improving how care is delivered, ensuring it’s more compassionate, inclusive, and sustainable for the disability community.

Why $15,000?
  • $5,000 will covers tuition for my Master's of Education in Social Emotional Learning, Mindfulness, and Yoga with a concentration in Transformative Teaching & Leadership. This program has equipped me with the Breathe for Change TEACH Method-Trauma-informed, Equitable, Accessible, Community-based, & Healing-centered that is woven into all of the work I do at the Wellness and Behavior Collective.
The remaining $10,000 goes toward:
  • Accessible Wellness & Behavior Workshops & Services: Make training sessions more accessible to underfunded organizations and underserved communities.
  • Creating Accessible Resources: Develop materials like workbooks, guides, and tools for behavioral healthcare and ABA organizations.
  • Expanding Our Reach: Invest in marketing and outreach to bring trauma-informed care to more professionals and systems that need it.
  • Hiring Support Staff: Build a dedicated team to assist with outreach, workshop facilitation, and operational growth.

Your generosity ensures we can sustain this work, creating a ripple effect of meaningful change in the systems supporting the disability community.

Every Contribution Matters:

Please join us in making trauma-informed care the standard, not the exception. Whether you donate or share this campaign with others, your support will help us create meaningful, systemic change for the disability community.

With gratitude,
Jessica Woolson - Founder of The Wellness & Behavior Collective
