Help Aute run and play!
Donation protected
This is Aute, a sweet four year old girl who needs help with medical expenses to fix a torn ligament in her hind leg. Due to the severity of the injury, Aute is unable to bear any weight on this leg. Simple daily walks or minimal playtime can render her leg useless.
Aute was discovered abandoned in a box, in an alley behind a bar in Eureka, CA. Her first owners would leave her kenneled for extended periods of time or neglected outside during the coldest of months.
Her luck turned when my sister, Leanna, rented a place behind Aute's house. Noticing she was left alone for hours at a time, my sister asked Aute's owner if she could start walking her on a regular basis. It was during these early walks that she started noticing Aute's injured leg. As both started spending more time together, they quickly developed a strong bond. Aute's owner has since said she has no interest in caring for Aute and, as such, my sister has become the primary care taker. (Yay!) My sister travels between Hawaii and Northern California for work, so Aute often stays with us, her second family, in Seattle. We love having her and we want to get her leg fixed up so she can run and play.

We've researched some cost effect surgery options at Washington State University veterinary school. Our goal is to raise $3000 to help pay for the surgery. If we can get 150 people to donate $20 each we can meet this fundraising goal. We hope you will share Aute's story and appreciate donations at any level. Thanks so much!
