Austyn Lynne Kelly is the beautiful daughter of Bobby and Kayla Kelly. Bobby and Kayla are amazing friends, partners, family, but most of all - parents. Parents to two incredible and wonderful children: James (3) and Austyn (5 months).
Austyn was diagnosed with retinoblastoma cancer. She had a very large tumor in her right eye, and doctors were thankfully able to remove her eye before it risked her life. Sadly, Bobby and Kayla were also told that Austyn's left eye has 2 small tumors that were not originally visible by MRI. The doctor is going to treat those with lasers and cryotherapy and says he is not sure yet, but there is a chance her vision can be saved in her left eye.
The removal of her right eye went well and the doctors will be testing to check and see if she has any additional tumors on the outside of her eye. The initial procedures were done on the tumors in the left eye, but she will need additional laser treatments in the next few weeks again.
There are still a lot of unknowns, depending on the results of the tests and the treatments done on the left eye. If the laser treatments do not work or if the test results show that there are cancerous tumors found on the outside of her right eye, she will need to undergo chemotherapy and other treatments and surgeries.
Needless to say, Austyn has a long and trying road ahead of her with many questions/answers still up in the air. Austyn is a beautiful and strong baby girl with the support of so many friends and family.
Unfortunately, these surgeries and treatments to ensure baby Austyn will recover, and hopefully save her left eye too, will have extreme costs. Her treatments will continue to take place in Los Angeles, so in addition to all of these costs, they will also have ongoing travel expenses. Since Austyn is only 5 months old, Kayla just recently went back to work, but now has no PTO available, which means everyday she is away from work caring for Austyn, is one less paycheck - and one more unneeded stress.
Bobby and Kayla will do whatever it takes to help Austyn, and they in turn can use any help to make that possible.
Please help in any way that you can to offset some of the great burden they are carrying right now. They are incredible people and parents.
They are having to endure such heartbreak right now -- but collectively, we can try and ease some of their stresses by contributing to such a pure and great cause to help in the healing of their beautiful baby girl.
We love you Austyn!
