Australian missions trip!

Hey! I’m Lauren, a recent high school graduate and with a passion for loving and serving others the way others have done for me. I met Jesus through a camp ministry where others volunteered their time and showed love and care for me. Later, when I became a volunteer at a camp ministry for two summers, others welcomed me into their community and displayed such acts of kindness and services that have played a huge role in my life and growth. I have a heart for others who have never met Jesus and want to share him with love and kindness to them.

For the next step of my journey, I plan on training and serving with Youth with a Mission (YWAM), one of the largest mission organizations in the world, with workers in almost every nation! I chose them for their focus on training youth, their effective organization and the good reviews from past trainees. This will be an incredible opportunity for my growth and for me to share God's love with others, as it provides 3 months of practical training before sending me into another nation for 3 months to serve and love the people there. I look forward to learning from others with different cultures and perspectives and anticipate that this will be a life changing opportunity for both myself and the peoples lives that I will encounter.

The YWAM training site that I have chosen is located in Whitsunday, Australia and begins October 3, 2022. While there I will be learning how to connect with and serve others while sharing Jesus. The unique opportunity that I have chosen is to serve while backpacking because it will allow me to access people in remote villages, rainforests, or mountainous regions that might not otherwise be reachable. I like to be tested and grow and this will be a challenging mission that will require me to lean on God’s strength

The funds that I need to raise for this mission is $14,000. I have been able to fundraise most of this cost, however I just need another $4,000 to reach my goal and get on that plane at the end of the month. I hope that you will see what an exciting and meaningful opportunity this is and want to play a key part in helping me take this next step in my journey of faith, growth and service by helping me reach my fundraising goal.
