Cockburn Islamic Centre: A place of connection

Donation protected

“Sadaqah extinguishes sin as water extinguishes fire” (Hadith, Tirmidhi).  The Prophet (SAW) said, “Whoever builds a mosque, desiring thereby Allah’s pleasure, Allah builds for him the like of it in paradise” [Bukhari].

Like any campaign and fundraiser that we give to, its important that we give to a cause that we understand and to a cause with pure intentions.

Always remember: its never about how much we give, but about our sincerity that is being measured. So donate what you can and we pray Allah extends and increases our what we put forth for his sake!

Assalmualkum and welcome to our Fundraising page. We pray that you are in the best of wellbeing; physically, mentally and spiritually!

Who is Australian Islamic care, and what is, are their objectives?

We are an organisation with 4 fundamental values, these are:

1. Advancing Religious teaching and establishment of a place of worship for Muslims in Cockburn. We will use this opportunity of religious teaching to promote meaningful and tolerant interfaith interactions amongst people of different faiths and backgrounds.

2. Enhancing Education for low socioeconomic communities and new migrants of all backgrounds. We will arrange regular free of charge coaching/educational sessions for school aged students to help boost their academic performance, give them confidence to achieve their best potential and provide them with coaching to be more impactful members of our society.

3. Community welfare. AICI will aim to provide food to low socioeconomic families and the homeless. We will also arrange other basic necessities such as clothes, shoes and toiletries. This is a key principle at AICI as we believe that every Muslim should positively impact the community in which they live.

4. Holistic Health care & Wellbeing: Australian Islamic care Inc will endeavor to provide culturally sensitive and appropriate healthcare encompassing spiritual, physical and mental aspects of healthcare. AICI is aiming to arrange free health clinics for services that are not covered by Medicare, these sessions will be covered by qualified and registered health professionals across different health specialties.

We hope that the Australian Islamic care Centre in Cockburn will be home to a unique mental health service that enhances access to better care in an environment that encompasses the spiritual aspects of our religion. Mental wellbeing is a key priority for Australian Islamic care, and as you would have seen this is a key theme of today’s event.

Is Australia Islamic care inc a registered organisation?

Allhumdulliah, Australian Islamic care Inc is a registered not for profit organisation with the ACNC.

Where is this Mussala located?

The Australian Islamic care Centre is located in the Heart of Cockburn WA. it's a growing suburb and is already home to many Muslim families. There is currently no other Mussala in the vicinity of Cockburn. InshAllah the Mussala will be the only facility and community Centre within a wide radius, with many of the Prayer facilities located toward more south of Perth, thus having a facility and community Centre located in Cockburn provides a central option for

Are there any other facilities at the Mussala?

Traditionally the Masajid were always a place for more than worship, it was a place of connection, community, learning and nurturing. Having considered all this, Australian Islamic Care is grateful to have an attached community hall to accommodate community events, such as weddings, youth classes, interfaith dialogues and adding that vital need for connection.

When will the Mussala be open for use?

Currently, we are in the final stages of completion, inshAllah we hope in the coming few months the Mussala will be complete and ready for use with plans to welcome the community (one and all!) in late May 2022.

*Kindly note: we felt it was important to clarify, Whilst Mohammad Jehangir is listed as the beneficiary, we assure you that the funds are NOT going to Mohammad Jehangir but rather the AICI account- the current Gofund me setup doesn't allow for fundraisers to be valid without a listed beneficiary- you may clarify account ownership on the ACNC website in regards to Australian Islamic care*
