Hi! My name is Abbie Butler, I’m 15, I’m a triplet, I’m in Grade 9 at Kings Meadows High School and I’m passionate about Running!
I’m a National level runner in the following events: 1500m, 3000m and the 2000m Steeplechase. I have just recently broke 4 State records from Under-16 to 20 age divisions in the Steeplechase.
I’m ranked number 1 in Australia on the Under-18 ranking list and top 20 in the World Under-18 for the 2000m Steeplechase and I have just been selected to represent Tasmania in theAustralian All Schools Athletics Championships in Perth, WA in December. This will be my third trip across the water this year representing Tasmania, competing in Cross Country and Athletics. As you could imagine this becomes extremely costly for my family, but is where I need to go to competeagainst the best athletes in Australia, at a higher level and toincrease my chances of one day representing Australia at the Commonwealth games or even the Olympics. (Travelling across that tiny bit of water becomes quite expensive!)
Not only is it the cost of travelling, there are many expenses, including but not limited to flights, accommodation, hire car/bus/taxis, my uniform, my levies for Athletics Tasmania and my entry fees for my events.
I have created this Go Fund Me page to help my family out with the cost of competing in Perth, any donation no matter how big or small would be greatly appreciated. I hope to one day say “Thank you” to my family and everyone else by representing Australia, that is my ultimate goal.
