If you know Kyle and I, you know that we are actively involved in our local church and intentional about getting the whole truth to the whole world. Kyle and I have always be unified in knowing we would dedicate our entire lives to the work of the Kingdom.
Enter the unique, life-altering opportunity. On March 16, 2020, we and a group of other ministry couples, will be embarking on a two-week missions endeavor to the interior of Australia. This is a mission unlike any I have ever encountered where each ministry couple will travel from village to village, completely solo, to preach, sing, and minister to the native tribes.
The money we are raising through bake sales, babysitting, pledges, and so on will go to pay for the high cost of airfare to Australia, as well as traveling the inhospitable interior of the island by prop plane and off road vehicles. We will be staying in the villages, but we are completely responsible for our food, lodging, and travel. It is important that we raise these funds as soon as possible so as to secure our travel before prices fluctuate.
We tend to think of Australia as a wealthy, urban tourist spot. While that may be the case for the coastal cities, the interior of the country is untamed, unchurched wilderness occupied by the native Aborigines. The missionary directors for Australia have established preaching points throughout the tribes and villages of the Outback where Kyle and I, by ourselves, will be tasked with ministering to these hungry, willing souls.
Having grown up in church and being immersed in ministry all of our lives, Kyle and I are looking forward to this challenge. We do not ever want to become so familiar with the power, blessings, and presence of God that we take it for granted so we welcome this perspective altering opportunity. We thank you for partnering with us in your prayer and your finances and we sincerely hope to be a blessing to the people of Australia.
