Help Me Learn to Code! Hack Reactor

Donation protected
Hello friends and family,

As some of you may know, I am graduating from UC Berkeley this December with my bachelor’s degree in History, with a concentration in modern economic history. I am grateful to have studied under some of the most renowned economists and historians at such a fine university.

I am grateful for the friends I have made here in Berkeley, for the friends I have had much longer, and for my immediate and extended family who have been in my life the longest. In some way or another, you have supported me and encouraged me to get to where I am today, and for that I thank you!

Since the beginning of summer 2015, I have been teaching myself how to code. After learning some basic coding syntax online, I decided to enroll in a month-long web development night class in San Francisco, while also taking summer classes at UC Berkeley. This fall semester, I am taking a web development class, which is helping me reinforce those skills.

After I graduate, my goal is to attend Hack Reactor, which is known as one of the most selective coding bootcamps in San Francisco. Hack Reactor’s immersive 12-week program is intense, requiring 66+ hours of dedicated coding per week. This hard work pays off, since Hack Reactor places 99% of its graduates into mid-level software engineering roles within 3 months after finishing the program.

In order to prepare myself for such an intensive program, my goal is to attend Hack Reactor Fulcrum, which is a prep course that will last about a month after I graduate from UC Berkeley. Hack Reactor Fulcrum offers 100+ hours of material, which will help solidify my foundation for the immersive 12-week program. I want to get the most out of this whole process, so I don’t want to cut any corners.

Will you consider helping me out financially? The Bay Area is pretty expensive, and Hack Reactor Fulcrum is quite pricey as well. The money I pay for Hack Reactor Fulcrum will be deducted from the total tuition for the 12-week Hack Reactor program. So any amount you could give, whether large or small, will help me get to where I need to go.

Thank you for your time, prayers, and best wishes.
