“Most anything I've ever set my mind to, I could accomplish.” - Kelly Slater, 11 Time World Surfing Champion
In the heart of California’s Central Coast, nineteen year old Austin Neumann is in pursuit of becoming the best surfer in the world.
Simply qualifying for the World Surfing League Tour takes hard work, peak physical condition, and most of all…your help.
Not getting into the water until 15, he found what really drives his heart, and has seen incredible results. Rising before the sun, staying fit, and ripping big waves in numbingly cold water is what this rare talent is all about. Austin has quickly realized success and recently delivered two big NSSA wins and a top 5 finish on the WSA 2014-2015 circuit. Now that he has completed High School, he’s driven to become a top professional athlete.
When not on the road competing, Austin works full-time, at his Uncle’s donut shop to make ends meet. This pursuit requires a very flexible work schedule. All downtime goes into perfecting his skills on the waves, conditioning his body, and treating it right to prepare for the next contest. Those close to Austin know his relentless smile, positive attitude, and dedication to his friends & family. Dedication, hard work, and humility can only take a driven person so far.
That’s where your contribution comes in.
Unfortunately, there are no grants or scholarships to get to the highest level of this profession. The main challenge is funding this first step to the goal. Unlike other career paths, to gain access to the professional surfing tour, you have to cut your teeth in the minor league tour without consistent pay. Success shouldn't be limited to only the privileged.
Let’s get behind this up-and-coming talent and help launch the next world surfing champion!
Your generous contribution will directly fund contest entry fees and direct travel expenses.
You get to follow his pursuit of success on his Instagram, Facebook and updates on his GoFundMe page.
His commitment is to pay other expenses from his work (rent, car, boards, suits, clothing, etc.), to train hard, and to stay away from the typical distractions of most people his age.
Act as professional athlete and you can become a professional athlete.
Your contribution will be recognized by Austin putting your name on his boards!
…Paddling into future success with a vision of the people who helped get him there.
Austin is set to kick off the 2016 Qualifying Tour season in early January at the first event in Huntington Beach, CA. The following events he will attempt to enter are in Israel, Florida, Hawaii and possibly Indonesia.
The estimated investment for 5 events in the first half of the 2016 season is about $10,000. Simply put, if 100 people chipped in $100 each, we meet our next goal!
Thank you all so much!
Follow Austin’s pursuit to be the best and look for updates on training, upcoming contests, and results.
