Movement friends, Austinites, and supporters of environmental justice,

Pete Rivera needs our support. For years Pete, alongside his brothers, parents and neighbors of East Austin, has stood shoulder to shoulder with the longtime residents of East Austin and Travis County in the battles for environmental justice, against gentrification, and most famously, the clean up and preservation of the Red Bluff Nature Preserve.

Today Pete needs our help in another battle: cancer.

Pete has been fighting different bouts of cancer for the past couple of years. More recently he has had to undergo a few procedures to address additional flare ups of cancer in his bladder and liver. He is currently on a waiting list for a liver transplant. And to make things more challenging, Pete is searching for permanent long-term housing.

His health has made finding reliable work difficult, and medical bills are starting to pile up. He is traveling back and forth to San Antonio for treatment. We need your help pitching in to cover:
