I am Austin’s aunt, and am writing this in his behalf. He is a lineman for an energy company working out of Wyoming. He was involved in a serious accident. He was catapulted 35’ in the air and landed hard on his feet. When he landed, he burst his L-1 vertebrae and fractured his ankle. At the moment he does not have feeling in his legs, but we are optimistic that with time he may gain back what is currently lost.
I have set up this fund to help Austin and his family while they are away from work to help tend to Austin’s needs.
Austin will be transferring to the University of Utah soon. He needs extensive therapy and will be there for a very long time. Just one of his injuries (in addition to a broken ankle and paralysis) is a clot in his spinal column. It can take years to heal and a lot of physical therapy is the method used for healing this kind of injury.
Austin has always been a very determined boy. He started walking at nine months. His mom would put two baby gates one on top of the other, and he would still manage to get over them both. We have great faith and many prayers that Austin will do his part, as the Lord (and medical professionals) helps the miracle needed for Austin to be able to walk again.
A couple summers ago, he witnessed a combine fire. He rushed to see if the driver was safe. Austin is the young man who pulled out the man to save his life. He received burns on both arms that also put him in the hospital.
Austin is a champ of a man.
A hero.
With a brother and two sisters still at home, and Rachel and Dallen traveling back and forth to Utah (200 miles) to the rehab center, providing for the kids at home and many days of missed work we can see the initial goal was far short of what will be needed.
Again, we are very grateful for any contributions you may be able to offer. Thank you for helping this family. It’s an honor to assist such a good family in their time of need.
Prayers appreciated.
