Hello friends and family. Austin has an amazing opportunity to attend the National Youth Leadership Forum for Law & CSI. This is pretty cool, considering you can't just attend this conference. You have to be nominated by a teacher and selected to participate alongside other high-achieving students. Through Envision’s immersive career exploration programs, you can test drive a career and develop real-world technical skills for a specific profession. This unique hands on experiance helps individuals decide if a particular career path is desirable. I went to one of these leadership forums right after my senior year and it was an unforgettable experiance.
So if you're not related to Austin and don't know him, let me tell you what a wonderful young man he is. Austin spends a great deal of time at my house, as he lives 20 minutes from town. He got straight A's on his first semester report card. In addition to being in the top 10% of his class, he works between 15-20 hrs a week and is currently on the Varsity golf team. He's the type of kid that sees my trash is full and takes it out without asking. If I'm having a crazy time with my 3 kiddos, he jumps right in by holding the baby or playing with my toddler. He is extremely responsible and goal driven. He's up early before his work shifts and I only have to tell him once to do anything school related and it gets done.
Our goal is to raise $3500. Of this, $638 is needed urgently to secure his spot in the program. The deposit is due this Friday March 1st. The breakdown of costs is as follows: $2734 for program fees, $635 for a flight to Washington D.C. and $131 for incidentals. He has applied for a scholarship but we will not hear back from it until the first week of March and the enrollment deadline is March 1st. ( Who planned that?).
I've never done a Go Fund Me account for anyone but I feel strongly about this opportunity for Austin. If you don't know Austin personally, but you know me, please take my word for it that this young man deserves to go to this forum. I have no doubt that Austin has amazing potential and will excel after high school. Any amount will help our cause. Thank you in advance!
