Austin Sugar Glider Rescue
Sugar gliders are adorable little marsupials that glide like flying squirrels. They’re native to the rainforests of Australia, and they’ve become popular as pets in the US over the last 25 or so years.
They are colony animals who will bond to their human for life, they are roughly as intelligent as a dog, and they live up to 15 years. Unfortunately, people don’t realize that when they buy them, and end up treating them like hamsters. The gliders end up with a poor diet, a lack of interaction, and limited space to exercise, so they start to become mean and afraid of people.
I have started Austin's sugar glider rescue to help rehabilitate neglected sugar gliders. I did this for about 4 years before I moved to Texas. This is a non-profit venture, so any donations are very much appreciated.
