Austin Richards memorial monument

In May I visited the Austin - Richards gravesite at the Evergreen Cemetery in Detroit, only to find it unmarked. The following family members were burried together in a family plot:

Joe Austin Sr. was the last to be interred in the plot, and apparently no monument was set at that time. I felt uneasy about this, and asked for a quote from a local monument maker referred by the cemetery. A simple, vertical monument labeled "AUSTIN - RICHARDS" and listing the names and dates as listed above. The quote was $2800 for a 42" wide, 32" high grey stone marker and $800 for the cemetery to mount it. Given a 6% sales tax, the total should be $3,816.
