Austin Needs Us: Tragic Loss of Family

Donation protected
Michael and Debbie Carman were the owners and operators of The Abide Ride Burrito Truck. Many know the Abide Ride, as it is a frequent stop for many Conifer, Pine and Bailey residents on their early morning commute to Denver. Unfortunately, when Mike and Debbie were traveling to Denver early on July 21st, to restock their orange juice before the day ahead, they were involved in a multi car collision. A wrong way driver was driving at speeds estimated near 100MPH, heading southbound in the northbound lane on 285 just north of the Hwy 8 (Morrison Rd) exit. This reckless behavior caused a head on collision with Mike and Debbie. With the severe damage to their vehicle, West Metro Fire Department had to cut the car apart to free them both. Michael was tragically pronounced dead at the hospital after West Metro Fire Department attempted to save his life. His wife, Debbie, was admitted to the ICU in critical condition. With their only son by her side, Debbie Carman passed away as a result of her injuries.

We are asking for donations to go towards their memorial services and to help their son through this extremely hard time. Austin, their son, promised he will do whatever he can to keep the Abide Ride Truck open to the community.

My name is Sam Norman, I am organizing the service for Austins parents, as he grieves.

**Update**
We are completely blown away by the outpouring of love, support, and generosity from our community during this heartbreaking time. On Monday morning, Austin tragically lost both of his parents in a wrong-way crash on 285. The pain of their sudden loss is unimaginable, and we are still trying to make sense of it all.
In the midst of our grief, the kindness we've received has truly lifted us. To everyone who has donated, shared, or reached out with kind words—thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your support means the world to us.
Because of your generosity, we’re aspiring that we’ll be able to keep Austin’s parents’ home in Pine and continue running the Abide Ride, a part of their legacy that we’re committed to carrying forward. These aren’t just things—they are memories, roots, and pieces of their love that we want to preserve and honor.
Thank you again for standing with us. We feel your love and are forever grateful.
With love and gratitude,
Austin & Family
