Austin Greenough, 27 from Urbandale, Iowa now residing in Denver, Colorado, was hit by a car while walking downtown Denver on Thursday, September 22, 2022. Austin sustained substantial injuries. He has a broken right and left pelvis, 5 broken ribs, broken nose and had his gall bladder removed. He has also sustained head injuries which are not completely determined at this time. Austin has a long road to recovery both physically and emotionally. He is currently in the Trauma ICU at Denver Health in Denver, Colorado. Donita (mother), Owen (father) and Ryan (brother) are now with him.
Austin is originally from Urbandale, Iowa. He grew up attending school in West Des Moines and Valley High School. Austin grew up playing hockey in Des Moines. He played for many Des Moines Buccaneer travel teams and the Des Moines Oak Leafs. He was the Captain of the 2014 Oak Leaf Championship team. Austin is a true leader in sports, the classroom and now in business. He graduated from the University of Iowa Tippie Business School top of his Class in Accounting. Austin, a Certified Public Accountant was recently promoted to Deals Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in Denver.
Doug & Heather Olson, Doug & Janan Burns and John & Darla Cox are creating this GoFundMe page for all of Austin’s medical and living expenses. These expenses will be incurred and paid for by Austin as he recovers. We are asking friends, family, and the hockey community to donate to help reach our goal for Austin.
