Austin DeMeritt STEM Opportunity

Austin was chosen to represent South Elementary School in Martinsville to attend the National Youth Leadership Forum: Pathways to STEM this summer. He was chosen by his teacher, Ms. Conklin, because he already demonstrates exceptional maturity, scholastic merit, and leadership potential. The week long forum will give Austin the opportunity to participate in intensive, engaging, hands-on workshops focused on five sills that are essential to success: communication, critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and goal setting. In 2018, the program will be held in 15 locations across the country. it is a five night, six day residential program. Austin has already secured a $500.00 scholarship, but needs an additional $1,800 to make this dream a reality. The additional funds will be used to cover travel, accommodations and fees associated with the program not included in his scholarship. More information on this program may be obtained by visiting https://www.envisionexperience.com/explore-our-programs/national-youth-leadership-forum-pathways-to-stem
